Deep tissue massage can be used in both sports and therapeutic massage. This technique involves applying sustained light to medium pressure to the skin to access both the superficial and deep layers of the myofascial fascia. Through this hands-on approach, the tissue is able to align and normalise, resulting in the reduction of pressure on the body.
